Dr Ann Wand, DPhil (Oxon)
Anthropologist, Author, Consultant, Media Presenter
Ann’s doctoral research at the University of Oxford concentrated on segregated education practices in South Tyrol, Italy, resulting in her thesis, Half spaghetti- half Knödel: cultural division through the lens of language learning (2016). She is now writing a book for Palgrave Macmillan based on her fieldwork experience, tentatively entitled, Modern day segregation: an anthropological critique of ‘separate but equal’ education in Italy’s South Tyrol province (forthcoming).
Alongside her book, Ann continues to explore future research projects in anthropology through new media and non-academic outlets.
